Regulatory requirements. In accordance with section 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, the Government’s policy is to acquire items composed of the highest percentage of recovered materials practicable, consistent with maintaining a satisfactory level of competition without adversely affecting Performance requirements or exposing employees to undue hazards from the recovered materials.
Preservation, packaging , packing, labeling and marking
Each shoe shall be wrapped in a sheet of regular grade commercial tissue paper. Each mated pair of shoes shall then be packaged in a one piece or two piece shoe box. Six pairs of shoes of one size and width only shall be packed in a snug fitting container made of fiberboard conforming to type CF, class domestic, variety DW, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. Containers shall be sealed in accordance with good commercial practices and reinforced with pressure-sensitive adhesive filament tape.
In addition to any special marking required by the contract or purchase order, shipping containers and palletized unit loads shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
Palletization. Shoes, packed as specified, shall be palletized on a 4-way entry pallet in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147.
